8-13-20   THOUGHTS

This morning I’m thinking about US...  The Church at Rescue.  I’m remembering us together, talking, laughing, loving, hugging.  No fear that hugging one of our older ones could have consequences.  It was FELLOWSHIP FREEDOM.  “Against such there is no law” (Gal 5:23)
Today, we live more VIRTUALLY for the sake of healthy precaution.  I worry again about our CONNECTION!  Are all of you participating in our Sunday morning live stream? I know that most of us are not participating in our Wednesday evening Zoom class.  If we desire connection, why is that so?  Some of it is technical, but not most of it.  We do what we WANT TO DO!
So that brings us to WHERE DO OUR “WANTS’ come from? I want all of us to think about that today.  The FRUIT WE PRODUCE speaks loudly of what our “WANTS” ARE!  

Matt 6:21-24   for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22  "The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. 23  "But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!   [now some critical explanation]  24  "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

If I desire CONNECTION and FELLOWSHIP and LOVE and US...  I will make that happen in my life!  To the extent that it happens in my life, it will happen in your life.
It’s time for each of us to RENEW OUR “WANT” SYSTEM!  Please use a “clear eye”!

Php 3:20  For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
Col 3:1-3   Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2  Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.  3  For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
I pray verse 3 is TRUE and REAL in each of us.

My Prayer:
Oh God, your design for the Christian and The Church is obvious.  You knew our need for togetherness based on the unity of our belief in Christ Jesus.  We beg your help in this area Father.  Help us to want with our whole heart, close relationship with You and with each other. Show us dear Lord the joy of relationship and the reward of serving.
